One more pic for the weekend

Nichole took this pic of Lily while she was trying out her Bumbo. It is a seat for little one's that can't sit on their own yet. Have a great weekend. Nichole, Lily and I are off to camp so check back next weekend for a blog update.

14 Weeks and Seattle

Lily is 14 weeks this week. On Monday and Tuesday we went to Seattle and hung out with Ben and Leah. It was a lot of fun. Lily took her first bus ride and saw Pike's Place Market for the first time. Here are some pics from the past week.

Two cute women

She loves to smile

She doesn't seem to impressed with being on her tummy

Auntie Leah and Uncle Ben

The Fremont Bridge foghorn sounded that the bridge was going up while we were walking across and Nichole exclaimed, "Shnikee" and ran to get off of it.

Quote of the week

"A committee is a cul-de-sac down which ideas are lured and then quietly strangled."

Sir Barnett Cocks

Sir Barnett Cocks was involved in British government but I thought this was very funny for all of you out there who have been on church committees. Enjoy.

Guest book and Lily's Symphony

I have installed a guest book. We hear that there are people all over the world reading this blog and we would love to find out who. Please sign the guest book.
Also, I am working on a symphony of Lily noises, so check back later this week for the funny and silliness of Lily's dad.

Lily's First Laugh

This is Lily's first laugh. She laughs really well right away and then kind of runs out of gas. Be sure to scroll down and see the new pics.

What might Lily be thinking?

I love my little bear.

I am a pretty little girl.

My diaper is almost full.

Yay, thanks for the diaper change.

More pictures, are you serious?

Please don't take anymore pictures.

10 weeks

Lily is ten weeks tomorrow. It is crazy how much she seems to be growing. She now smiles consistently and we think she is close to laughing and giggling. We are excited to see our friends Katie, Linsday and Leslie tomorrow. The first two pics are from Mother's Day.

Gas prices got you down. Going on vacation and need to know how much you should budget. This fun link is for you.

8 weeks old

Lily is 8 weeks old. She had a couple of firsts this week. Her first overnight trip was to Portland where we stayed at the Webers. I did a job for my father-in-law at the ocean, so it was also her first trip to there. She is starting to smile on a regular basis when Nichole talks to her as evidenced by the pictures.
A word to the wise. Don't always trust Google maps. We ended up taking the very scenic route through "Nowheresville" Oregon and it took us four hours instead of about one and a half.
Oregon now has Sonic. Yay, Route 44 cherry limeade, and yes I did drink it all.

Lily

Our little daughter is growing. She now fits very well in her car seat and swing and clothes that just last week seemed to big are now snug. She follows Nichole and I very intently when we leave her field of vision and many times this week she has smiled. We are both trying to figure out what makes her smile on cue, but haven't quite figured it out yet. Here are some pics from the last week.

Oooh, look at my little dimple.

Aaah, sound asleep.

This is not okay.

Mommy almost caught a smile.

Lily Update

Lily is now six weeks old. She has had a lot of fun with Nana visiting. We went to Seattle on Monday and saw the water and Auntie Leah and Uncle Ben's apartment. We also went to Olive Garden to celebrate my birthday a little early and Lily cried through the whole meal. :-( On the happy side, Lily has really started following Nichole and I with her eyes when we enter her field of vision. We are eagerly awaiting her first smile.

5 Weeks Old

Lily is now five weeks old. She went to the doctor yesterday and checked out fine. She gained over a pound in the past week. Nana also came to visit this week and has enjoyed her time with her first grandchild. We are having fun seeing Lily change and grow and are excited for when she starts interacting with us more. We love her a lot.

A story, Friday Fun links and a dancing Spidey

I forgot to include this story in my last post, but I want to share it with you. If you have children, you know that the first months are tired times. On Monday morning I took my truck in for some work. When I got home Nichole was still sleeping. I went in, kissed her on the lips and she then proceeded to ask me these questions.
"Is Lily okay?"
"Is John back?"
She then realized what she said and exclaimed, "Whoa, I must be tired." It is interesting to see I have now been relegated to second place on the importantometer and there must be other people in the world that kiss her on the lips.

Easter and the many faces of Lily Ann Gruber

We celebrated Easter on Sunday and took some pictures with our daughter. Lily is now four weeks old. She wasn't gaining weight so we went to the doctor a couple times and from Friday to Monday she gained 14 ounces. Oink, oink! The rest of the pictures are the many faces of our daughter from the last week.

Three Weeks

Yesterday Lily turned three weeks old. During this past week she went to her first prayer meeting, her first church service and her first party. She is eating a lot and is fussy from time to time. She doesn't like it when she gets the hiccups, but when she does it is cute because she sounds like a little frog. She also does not like getting her diaper or clothes changed. She likes riding in the car and sleeping on daddy's chest.
The following pictures are of her during her first bath and with Grandpa and Grandma Oren who are here visiting for a couple of weeks. Nichole is continuing to adjust having someone almost totally dependent on her, so if she hasn't answered your emails, she apologizes. Yesterday Nichole and I went to the mall without Lily. It was our first time together without her. We only called twice and I think did alright leaving her. Enjoy the pics.
